Introduction/specifics

Child day care is equivalent to childcare in a daycare facility, especially for children under the age of three, and fulfills the statutory mandate to promote the upbringing, education, and care of children.

A qualified childminder (childminder) cares for a small group of children in their own or rented apartment/house.

The children are usually between the ages of 0 and 3, and the number of children cared for is a maximum of 5, or in a large daycare center with 2 or 3 childminders, a maximum of 9 children at a time. Child day care thus has a family-like atmosphere, allowing each child to receive particularly intensive attention.

Childcare hours in child day care can be individually agreed upon between parents and childminders according to their specific needs.

Rooms

The childcare facilities, which are owned or rented, are child-friendly and allow children to develop safely and stimulatingly. They offer ample space for play, suitable play and activity materials, accident-preventive and hygienic conditions, and a bed for each child.

Outdoor Facilities

Childcare centers use nearby playgrounds or take children to parks/forests. Some childcare centers have their own outdoor areas (gardens, etc., with play equipment).

Food

Healthy, balanced, child-friendly meals are provided, either prepared by the childminder or brought by the parents, depending on the childcare provider's preferences. Children's food intolerances, etc., can be accommodated in the menu.

Basics

Each child day care facility carries out the task of education, upbringing and care according to its own pedagogical concept, in which the child day care worker reflects the profile of the child day care facility and describes the principles and priorities of his/her educational work.
