Outdoor Facilities

Our garden (featuring a large sand play area, mature and young trees, water play areas, terraces, and much more...) offers plenty of space for our children to engage in imaginative, free, and exploratory play. There is a large area for the older children and a more sheltered area for our nursery children.

In addition, we regularly visit the nearby zoo, the various playgrounds in the area, take trips to downtown, and go to the Aachen City Forest every week.

Food

The nursery has its own kitchen and a full-time cook who is responsible for preparing fresh lunches every day.

Parents and nursery staff work together with our cook to develop a healthy, balanced and child-friendly menu. We base this on the FIT KID menus from IN FORM, which are in line with DGE standards. Individual dietary requirements, such as intolerances or allergies, are taken into account.

The children have a say in the choice of dishes.

Basics

At the heart of our work is the capable child as an individual and a member of our community, with all their resources and interests, their goals and needs.
We support and nurture the children through the various stages of childhood development, from the initial process of separating from the family environment, through the development of their own physical and emotional autonomy, to the independence and personality required for school readiness.
In doing so, we adhere to the educational agreements and document the educational processes in development reports and photo portfolios.
A cornerstone of our nursery work is the positive, trusting relationship between nursery staff and parents/guardians.
The nursery is a parent-run initiative. This means that parents and other guardians become members of a parents’ association, which runs the nursery.

Please register with our nursery via the City of Aachen’s nursery portal - https://www.kitas.aachen.de/. Once your registration request has been processed, you will receive all further information regarding the admission process at our nursery.

As a rule, we accept all new children into our nursery group.

Example:

Admission on 1 August 2027 – children born between 25 October and 26 September

Admission on 1 August 2028 – children born between 26 October and 27 September

etc.
